Brenda L. Butler is a retired library paraprofessional who now writes full-time. She studied creative writing at Athabasca University, completing her B.A. in 2022. In her writing, Brenda draws on family and personal experience to explore issues of mental illness and generational trauma. Her novel, Through The Dust is forthcoming from Gelassenheit Publications. Excerpts of Through the Dust have been published in Quagmire Literary Journal and long-listed for the Pulp Literature "First Page Cage Match" 2023. Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Brenda spent thirty years living in the Yukon before moving to Ottawa with her husband and their golden retriever.
